about the cities of Herculaneum and Pompeii:
History
Vesuvius Wine
As you begin your exploration, you will see the ancient remains of the city and get a glimpse of what life was like in the past. After we are done visiting this ancient city, we will continue driving along the foot of Mount Vesuvius until we reach the vineyards. These vineyards are spread across a land that is full of history, mysticism and known for social upheavals. The farm’s vines are grown on Vesuvius soil, between Torre del Greco, Torre Anunziata e Boscotrecase, also known as “Bosco delle Tre Case Religiose” (The Wood of the Three Religious Houses). We will stop at the foot of the Sterminator Vesevo (this name was given to Vesuvius by an Italian poet Giacomo Leopardi). Here, you will have the opportunity to taste different varieties of wines, and savor a delicious and light lunch made with fresh, local ingredients.
Archaeology
Exploring the Herculaneum UNESCO World Heritage Site is a trip that you will always remember and treasure. You will see the ancient remains of the city and understand what life used to be like back in the day. You will be surprised by the amount of detail in the ruins. This is due to how well the site has been preserved after the famous eruption of Mount Vesuvius that covered this city with volcanic ashes in 79 A.D. Over 300 bodies have since been discovered, killed by the intense heat of overflowing ash and hot gases. During your eye-opening tour of Herculaneum, you will see artifacts such as beds, houses, doors, food, and a lot more.
Once the tour is complete, we will meet you outside of the ruins to begin the scenic and relaxing drive back to your residence. No matter where your accommodation is, you can relax knowing that your local Chauffeur knows the way around.
